All right, all right, all right. I haven't posted anything here since the end of April, and as it's now the end of June, that's inexcusable. I haven't dropped off the face of the earth; on the contrary, I graduated, moved out, went to Austin for my brother's graduation (he's now got an MA! Dad's got the MBA, and I'll be getting the MFA, so between the three of us, we've got most of the bases covered), unpacked, repacked, moved up to Maine, had Jols, Katie, and Squid over for a week, went back to Massachusetts, went to New York, found an apartment (it's brilliant-- Brooklyn, gigantic, hardwood floors, exposed brick), signed a lease, went back to Massachusetts, and am now currently back up in Maine.
Needless to say, it's been a little hectic.
And I suppose the big thing is this: I doubt very much that I'll be writing on this particular blog much more in the future. I don't know what sort of readership I've even got at the moment, but it can't be at all high; and besides, it's sort of lost its purpose. When I began it four years ago, it lacked a function. Over time, it gradually came to be a way to let faraway friends and family what I've been up to. However, when I started writing here, my writing in the paper-bound journal I've been keeping for over ten years tapered off somewhat. Last year, I made a rare New Years' resolution: to recapture the handwritten word. Well, I did; but it seems that it's tough to keep both running at once.
There's a certain symmetry to this whole thing: it encompasses my life as an undergraduate, and now that it's finished, so, I think, is this. So in the future, if you need to get a hold of me, I'm easily found, either online or via the mobile (same number as always, for those of you who have it). Don't be strangers, now!
But fear not! I've been busily writing reviews and essays on Where's Higgs?, and I intend to continue doing so. Unlike this blog, Where's Higgs? has a purpose-- so, if you're interested in what's going on in my mind in relation to various external cultural goings-on, keep checking it. I tend to update it roughly two to three times a month, depending on what I'm seeing/reading/hearing, how much free time I've got, and how pressing I find the matter. If you do find yourself wandering over there, don't just lurk-- let me know you're there. Start a conversation, even!
And on that note, dear reader, I bid thee farewell, at least in this medium.
Now: on to the next leg of the journey!

Reason #237 why late-night diner conversations are the best:
Squid: I must get the butter into every crevice...
Me: They're pancakes! They shouldn't HAVE crevices!!!
[Jols and Katie sputter into their milkshakes.]
And scene.

Take Back The Night.

In a rare moment of freakish fandom, I appear to have spent the majority of my evening watching videos of John Barrowman singing musical theatre on YouTube.
How on earth did THAT happen?

I suppose it's time for an update.
Well, most of my limited readership probably already knows the Big News by now, but for those of you that don't, I've officially got a future: I got accepted into a grad program, and I'm getting an MFA in directing. I've also somehow been awarded a rather sizeable scholarship, which is going to make paying for this whole thing quite a bit easier.
Wordd.
And now, as the end of my final year as an undergraduate rapidly draws to a close, things are pleasantly easy. Time to breathe-- last time in a while, I'm betting. But it's good while it lasts. And I'm psyched about next year (the next three years, really), so all is well.
Eventually, I'll have Scotland pictures up. Brilliant trip.
In the meantime, the bulk of my writing is gravitating over to Where's Higgs?, so for my thoughts on Talk Radio, the World's Greatest Ghost Tour, Raul Esparza, and other assorted odds and ends, do hop on over there and check it out.
Signing off, live from New York...
